On September 20 and 21, 2023, at the Isarphilharmonie (Munich), Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho performed the German premiere of “Études symphoniques” – the new Piano Concerto by Thierry Escaich.
The work was first performed by Seong-Jin Cho at the Rudolfinum in Prague on March 16, 2023, and then was also premiered in Budapest (March 31, 2023) and Zagreb (April 1, 2023). The Concerto, published by Gérard Billaudot, was commissioned by Semyon Bychkov for the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, with which Seong-Jin Cho gave the premiere in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Croatia under the baton of Maestro Bychkov. The German premiere of the work, performed by Seong-Jin Cho and the Münchner Philharmoniker, was conducted by Maestro Dima Slobodeniouk.
