The Last Day of the 76th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj

During this week, we followed the events taking place as part of the 76th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój (Poland). This unique festival, whose Artistic Director is the outstanding pianist Prof. Piotr Paleczny is considered to be the oldest piano event of this type in the world.

Seong-Jin Cho will inaugurate the Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj

Today begins the 76th edition of the oldest piano festival in the world - The International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój (Poland). The Artistic Director of the festival is the outstanding Polish pianist Piotr Paleczny. The festival will be inaugurated on August 6, 2021 by the Master Recital of Seong-Jin Cho - the winner of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2015). The recital will be broadcast on Polish Radio The 2nd Channel. During the recital Seong-Jin Cho will perform the following program:
Leoš Janáček (1854 – 1928) - Piano Sonata in E flat minor "October 1, 1905"
Karol Szymanowski (1882 – 1937) - Masks Op. 34
Fryderyk Chopin (1810 – 1849) 4 Scherzos: No. 1 in B minor, Op. 20, No. 2 in B flat minor, Op. 31, No. 3 in C sharp minor, Op. 39, No. 4 in E major, Op. 54

Hänssler Classic signs 19-year-old pianist Tom Borrow

Born in Tel Aviv in 2000, Tom Borrow began studying piano at the age of 5 with Dr. Michal Tal, with whom he studied for 10 years at the Givatayim Music Conservatory. He is currently studying with Prof. Tomer Lev, Head of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. In addition, in the last three years Tom is regularly mentored by acclaimed pianist Murray Perahia through the Jerusalem Music Centre’s program for outstanding young musicians.
